Decades of Legal Representation for Injured Cyclists in Sacramento
Road biking is often used as a form of transportation or exercise, and mountain biking makes for great recreation. As the late president John F. Kennedy put it: “Nothing compares to the simple pleasure of a bike ride.”
But an increase in bicycle use means bicycle accidents can happen almost anywhere – roads and highways, parking lots, sidewalks, or private property. Nationwide, there are over 50,000 bicycle accidents each year and nearly 800 die from their injuries.
Because bicyclists are not shielded by thousands of pounds of metal and plastic like people in cars, bicycle accidents can cause devastating injuries. If you have been injured in a bicycle crash, from “road rash” to accidents resulting in catastrophic injury, our Sacramento bicycle accident attorneys can help.

Challenging Misconceptions About Bicyclists
Unfortunately, although bicyclists have the same right to be on the road as drivers of automobiles, they often get a bad rap, being unfairly blamed for bicycle accidents.
This is based on past prejudice where some cyclists have been seen riding on sidewalks, riding against traffic on the wrong side of the street, and rolling through stop signs or red lights. This prejudice and misconception can prevent cyclists from being treated fairly. As 19th Century author Louis Baudry D’ Saunier put it: “Cycling has encountered more enemies than any other exercise.”
We know you’ve suffered, and we are here to help guide your recovery and legal claims with the least amount of stress possible. Like pedaling your bike, we keep you positive and keep your case moving forward. We understand and can relate to what you have gone through.
We are avid bicyclists, and have competed in many Ironman distance triathlons. We know how to resolve by cases effectively, with our main objective and focus being to get you back to your work, family and life, and, of course, back on two wheels.
We want you to be able to recover from your serious injury, rather than worry about your case. You have enough to handle with medical appointments, getting better, and getting back in the saddle again. You shouldn’t have to deal with medical bill collectors and insurance adjusters.
Let us take this burden from you and carry it on our shoulders. That is our job. That is what we do. Although bicycle accident injuries can be numerous and severe, stay positive. Good things come to those who believe, better things come to those who are patient, and the best things come to those who don’t give up.

California Bicycle Laws You Should Know
Under section 21200 of the California Vehicle Code, when you are riding a bicycle you are considered a “vehicle” and are bound by all rules of the road found in the Vehicle Code. Surprisingly, the California vehicle code also regulates the “size” of bikes. They must be small enough for the rider to step off, support with one foot on the ground, then start safely. (Vehicle Code sec. 21201 (c).
In addition, if you are struck by another motor vehicle while riding your bike, and the responsible party has no auto insurance, you may still be able to have your medical bills paid under the “med pay” provision of your own automobile insurance policy.
